It’s Day Six of my Twenty-One Tools post series! In this post I am sharing something that will help you learn a little more about building your coaching business. It’s The Coaches 7-Figure Business Blueprint by Jayne Warrilow
Today’s WBECS tool will take you in a bit of a different direction toward your coaching business. We’re speeding through the last week of the WBECS Pre-Summit! Yesterday’s session by Robert Biswas-Diener, Emotions In Coaching was terrific. I have pages of notes. I signed up for his session because I have been a big fan since I read his book Positive Psychology Coaching: Putting the Science of Happiness to Work for Your Clients. It taught be a lot about the power strengths-based learning in coaching. This post focuses on the business of coaching.
Tool number six is The Coaches 7-Figure Business Blueprint by Jayne Warrilow.
Jane is the founder of the Coaches Business School and author of The 10 Day Coaches MBA – The Small Business Book for Coaches Who Want to Play Bigger.
Here’s a quote from Jaynes book:
Every coaching business fundamentally relies on two things: people and systems. Your coaching business is created by you (a person) and survives by benefitting others in some way. If you want to understand how business works you need to understand people, particularly the people with whom you want to work. You need to know how they think and behave, how they make decisions, and like to communicate. Many of you will be familiar with the people side of your coaching business. Recent research in the fields of psychology and neuroscience are informing coaching methodologies to enable us to communicate more effectively and sharpen our coaching tools to resonate better with our clients.
Systems, on the other hand, are a different story. These are the invisible structures that hold any coaching business together. Your systems are your coaching business, a collection of processes that can be relied upon to deliver a consistent quality of results to clients. By understanding the critical elements of a framework that top coaches use in their business, you can find ways to define, create and improve your existing systems. And before you ask, yes you do need systems, you can’t run a successful coaching business without them.
