I’ll be honest. Watching the news lately makes me cringe. It seems to me that there is a crisis of compassion happening globally.
That’s why I’ve become so interested in the work of Chris Germer, PhD and Kristen Neff PhD on compassion. Their research shows that people who are more self-compassionate, are more compassionate with others.
Since I have been on a professional development journey of sorts this year, I’ve just signed up to take the eight week course on The Power of Self-Compassion.
I am posting today to encourage you to join me! It’s fully online, and it’s a a step-by-step training that will help you bring kindness and inner strength to any moment of your life.
Here are some of the highlights from the program materials that got me interested in signing up.
What happens when we cultivate self-compassion? A solid body of ever-expanding scientific evidence reveals that highly self-compassionate people experience;
- More motivation and productivity
- Less self-criticism, anxiety, and depression
- Increased self-confidence
- More resiliency and persistence when they fail
- Prolonged periods of happiness and more satisfaction
- More curiosity, creativity, and innovation
- Increased support from others AND capacity to give
Could you use more of these “positives” in your life? I bet we all could. This is an area of struggle for so many of my clients, but I think this learning has a much broader reach.
Self-compassion skills and strategies can be game-changers for our colleagues, friends, children and even our aging parents. No one is immune from the feelings of helplessness that can come from the many challenges that we all face in life.
If you are a coach seeking continuing education units, attending this course will provide you with CCE’s in the Resource Development category for ICF credentialing. During this early-bird special, the course is being offered for $297, which is a $100 savings.
I’m excited about this program! Based on over a decade of research, this course includes eight weekly video learning sessions, in-depth home practices and a wealth of guided meditations to help you build a foundation of kindness and compassion toward yourself when you need it most.
Anyway, I’ll continue to post about great learning I’m discovering. In the meantime, I hope you will join me in taking The Power of Self-Compassion.
Oh, and for a limited time, you’ll save $100 plus receive three BONUS GIFTS 😀
Not quite sure? Watch the free video segments I mentioned in a earlier post.
